Atari 800, also known as Atari 800XL was released in 1983. Same as most home computers of that time, Atari 800 was based on the 6502C processor with a frequency of 1,79 MHz, had 64 Kb of the memory, was able to run games from tapes, 5,25” floppies and provide the colored image of 61440 pixels, and much more. The great advantage of this model has been its software compatibility with its predecessors – consoles Atari 400 and Atari 800, however there were no compatibility with competing models such as Commodore, Sinclair, Radio Shack and others.
